Pinczery — nazwa ta przyjęta w Niemczech, pochodzi od angielskiego: to pinche — szczypać, chwytać. Do pinczerów zalicza się psy kontynentalne proporcjonalnie zbudowane, odznaczające się sylwetką kwadratową (wysokość równa długości), żywym temperamentem, szybkim biegiem, silnym instynktem sfory i dużą czujnością. Pinczery łatwo przywiązują się do człowieka i mają wrodzoną pasję do tępienia gryzoni i szkodników leśnych (kuny, cats, lisy itp.). Ich żywy temperament często idzie w parze z agresywnością wobec obcych ludzi i zwierząt. Podobnie jak szpice, they are resistant to diseases and resistant to unfavorable conditions; they are fully functional for a long time. They provide invaluable services in guarding your belongings, what they have been used for for centuries. Although they are not hunting dogs, it is, however, due to their hunting instinct that they could serve as a hunting assistant, as e.g.. wild game. Unfortunately, Pinschers also tend to unload their temperament in arbitrary poaching escapades, which makes them not very popular in hunting circles.

Anyone who wishes to have a faithful guardian and a living companion, he can confidently buy a dog from this family, but provided, that he would be able to devote some time to his upbringing. Let go, it becomes annoying to the environment through its aggressiveness and noisy.

Pattern entered in the FCI register under the number 184a (22. II. 1964 r.)

He is the oldest representative of this family. The anatomical and psychological features are characteristic of a bearded man.

General impression. The smooth-haired pinscher is very elegant, an extremely shapely and lively medium-sized dog, with a square silhouette. Clearly wiry and muscular. The fronto-parietal is flat. Scissor toothing, strong and compact. Ears set high and evenly cropped. Dark eyes, medium size, oval (undesirable small and oblique).

Neck. Long, slightly bent, dry, with tight skin,, about haughty, strong neck.

Torso. Chest deep and moderately broad, with flat ribs. Forechest clearly developed.. Belly moderately cut.

Front limbs. Oblique shoulder. Forearm and pastern in one vertical position. The steep shoulder blade and narrow front leg stance are major drawbacks.

Hindquarters. Good rear angulation, ensuring a sliding gait. Paws required short, the so-called. kitten, with arched bow-compact toes.

Tail. Set high, cropped after the third vertebra, carried upwards.

Robe. Short cover, dense, smooth, tight and shiny without bald patches.

Ointment. Black with rusty, as much as possible by bright tanning;, uniformly black with no signs, uniformly fawn, from deer to reddish (deer); Brown, chocolate; blue-gray with black or yellow characters, silvery gray (pepper with salt).

Increase. Height at the withers from 40-48 cm.

Chody. Posuwiste. Small steps and stiff legs (stiltiness) are a disadvantage.

Disadvantages. Too expressive cheeks, no leading edge, muzzle too short or pointed, head too thick or too wide. Small eyes, oblique. Narrow or stocky torso.

The rest of the features correspond to the standard of the Schnauzer. This reference to the bearded man's model has historical justification, bowiem te obecnie usamodzielnione rasy były uważane za odmiany tej samej rasy, różniące się tylko szatą. Obecnie w Niemczech jeden klub opiekuje się nadal brodaczami i pinczerami, choć obie te rasy tak są zindywidualizowane, że bez sięgania do historii nie łatwo można by do-patrzeć się pokrewieństwa. Of course’ obecnie łączenie tych ras. w hodowli jest niedopuszczalne.
